The month of June marks both the birth and death of a key black figure in American history: James Weldon Johnson.
This is a beautifully written piece on the life of James Weldon Johnson. It features, not only historical facts, but renditions of “Lift Every Voice,” by young people in Nashvillle, and Al Green and Deniece Williams.
Very well written article. Just left out a very important fact. Some information is known about outstanding African Americans while certain bits, which should be mentioned, are often left out. Unless I failed to observe what I knew would have been included in this article, the author left out the fact that James Weldon Johnson was an alumnus of Clark Atlanta University.
Thanks for this. I agree.
